"Night Vigil" will be Dzieci's final para-theatrical offering of the season. As with all of Dzieci's workshops, a theme is carefully chosen, which relates to a question concerning the immediate developmental needs of the group. The "Night Vigil" workshop has been carefully constructed to both stand on its own as a four-hour para-theatrical experience, and serve as a preparation and initiation for those who choose to continue with the group for the ensuing ritual event.

With Dzieci's recent invitation to participate in the Parliament of the World's Religions in Barcelona this July comes a demand to rise to new levels of responsibility. Over the past seven years, the exploration and appreciation of ceremony and ritual has become central to our work, and we take on "Night Vigil" as a personal rite of passage.

"Night Vigil" will be open to all. It will commence at 7:00pm and end at 11:00pm. At that time, the night-long ceremony will begin. Those who participate in the workshop will be welcome to continue along with the group until sunrise.

We ask that you bring percussion, a blanket or cushion to sit on, dress for vigorous movement, and, if you intend to stay through the night, have a simple food offering to share.

Please make every effort to arrive on time. The doors will not remain open for the entire event. Should you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to respond to this e-mail or telephone 718 638 6037.

Only by letting go of knowing can we enter the unknown.
Dzieci invites you to join us as we step into this new realm.
